Yesterday, Yahoo got a world wide exclusive to show the first trailer for Ricky Gervais’ new film: The Invention of Lying. Originally entitled This Side of the Truth, the film is set in a world where humans haven’t developed the gene for lying. Gervais’ character becomes the first human to tell a lie and uses it to his advantage.
The trailer was put onto YouTube today and I downloaded it so you can view it below. It may take a while to load. The film is out this Autumn and early reports suggest it to be the film equivalent of The Office.

King of Pop Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50, paramedics where called his home around midday on the 25th of June 2009 at 2:36pm, but they were unable to revive him. It is understood that he died on the way to a nearby hospital.
During the original break of the story, TMZ – a news website known for it’s reliable stories covering the Los Angles area – was the first to ‘confirm’ that the star had died. This was met with inevitable doubt from fans of Jackson and BBC News. The LA Times said that the star was infact in a coma, but shortly afterwards followed TMZ and again, ‘confirmed’ that the star had indeed died.
It wasn’t until a few hours after Jackson was admitted into hospital that the LA Coroner officially confirmed that the star had died as a result of a cardiac arrest following a suspected heart attack. Social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook had it’s members informing their friends and the public with the latest developments on the story.
The star has had a history of medical problems. He hasn’t completed a full tour in twelve years. He was expected to do a tour in the United Kingdom of 50 venues, excess of 1 million tickets where apparently sold within days of them becoming available. His first venue would have been London in just over a weeks time, he had completed a medical without any issues.
An autopsy will be carried out on Michael Jackson tomorrow to determine the cause of death. For further information and updates, visit this external link at BBC News.
Update 3.40am 26/06/2009: Pictures of Michael Jackson body being transported for the autopsy.

I haven’t been the cinema in ages, although that’s not to say I haven’t seen any new films. The cinemas is a nice place when all the lights go down and the huge screen slowly comes into life, but I couldn’t do that every day. Sometimes it’s nice to watch a film at home with no-one else around. Over the past two weeks or so I’ve seen a about fifteen new films, (new to me anyway), here’s what I’ve seen:
- Anchorman
- Dan In Real Life
- Walk Hard
- Dodgeball
- Liar Liar
- Get Smart
- Juno
- Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist
- Night at the the Museum 2
- Ratatouille
- Step Brothers
- Wedding Crashers
- Yes Man
- Don’t Mess With The Zohan
- Zack and Miri Make a Porno
As you can see, most of them are recent comedy films. I love comedy films, they are the best genre of film in my opinion, specially when you need a little bit of cheering up. Ratatouille was the first film I’ve bothered to get on BluRay, and to no surprise the quality was incredibly detailed and made the whole viewing experience so much better. The funniest films on that list have to be Wedding Crashers, Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Walk Hard. The feel-good films have to go to Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Dan In Real Life and Juno.
The Hangover

However, today I’m going to see The Hangover. The film stars relatively unknown actors and actresses but has been a box office and commercial success with rave reviews.
It currently holds a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which for a comedy is pretty good score. I’m going during early afternoon so the cinema will be empty, can’t stand queuing and all that. Incase you don’t know what the film is about, here’s a quick synopsis copied over from Wikipedia:
The Hangover is a 2009 comedy film directed by Todd Phillips, who also directed the films Road Trip, Old School, and Starsky & Hutch. The main plot follows four friends who travel to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, only to wake up the next morning not remembering a thing and missing the groom, whose wedding is scheduled to occur the next day. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, and Heather Graham. The film was released in North America on June 5, 2009 to critical praise and box office success.
So, I really hope that it’s a good film. I also want to see Observe and Report and I Love You Man but they are no longer in cinemas so I’m going to have to wait until they are out on DVD to watch them. Regarding my list earlier in the post, you might have noticed most of them have something to do with Judd Apatow, he’s just brilliant and really is the king of comedy. There’s definitely one film I am going to wait to see at the cinema and that is Bruno, I can’t wait for that film. The trailer is a couple of posts down from this one.
Seen any good films lately? If so, drop me a comment on this post and I’ll probably watch them. I do have thirteen weeks to pass of course.

Over the next few days, (and possibly weeks), I’m going to be going over my 500+ blog posts that I have done over the past three years and will subsequently be updating them. What do I mean by updating? I mean I will be fixing broken links and images, correcting and expanding on information and correcting my spelling and grammar.
I just want to make sure my lovely blog is in top condition – because I like things like that. It’s also good for me to go over my posts that I haven’t read in years. I went over my first 30 posts on this blog and I must say… what was I thinking when I wrote them? They’re so childish and I cringed when I read them. Although, I suppose it’s nice to see how far I’ve come along.
In the mean time, if you find any posts that have been stamped with an update in the signature but still has anything wrong with it, (read above for the things I’m updating). Then please can you leave a comment in this post, thank you very much. Will make my job a lot easier. Hope you are enjoying the sun by the way guys.

I went to the Apple Store down in Milton Keynes over the weekend, originally I was meant to book an appointment with one of those Geniuses in order to get my iPod Touch checked over; it has a light leak which is letting in dust, and it shouldn’t. Anyway, after booking I decided to take some pictures of the new iPhone 3GS while I was there. You’re thinking that this post is pretty much pointless because there’s already thousands of pictures of it, but what’s the harm in adding my own?

Only a couple of images there, but I think you get the point: it’s very, very sexy. I urge you to go to your nearest Apple Store and play around for half an hour, (or an hour as I did), you’ll have fun; but you’ll leave wanting 2009’s most wanted gadget that bit more.
