It has just been announced that Scrubs is returning for season nine on December the 1st 2009 on ABC. However, after eight seasons, it’s time for some dramatic change regarding the structure that us fans has come to know and love over the past eight years.
First thing’s first, the cast: their will be a majority of an all new cast starting from this season. John C. McGinley, (Dr. Cox), and Donald Faison, (Christopher Turk), will be the only two veteran cast members set to return permanently. Other cast members, most notably Zach Braff, (J.D), will be returning the first six episodes in order to ease the viewers into the transition. The interns from season 8, (Katie, Sonny, Denise, etc), will be returning as full time cast members.

The location: in the narrative of the Scrubs universe, Sacred Heart has been decommissioned and demolished due to the fact that it’s simply too old to operate from.
The new hospital will be aptly named New Sacred Heart, but again in terms of the Scrubs universe, funds ran out before building work could be completed, but competed enough so it can be used to operate and work from. There will also be a University located near by as well.
As you can see from the picture, there’s also a new hospital logo.
At the time of writing, I don’t know when the new season will premier in the UK. However, as with previous seasons there is usually a six to eight month gap and it will almost certainly be shown on E4. So by that knowledge expect it to be aired around May/June 2010. However, if you cannot wait that long, you will be able to download or stream the new episodes via the Internet.
As with season eight, season nine will be filmed and broadcasted in high definition. So, how are you feeling about this new season? Are you relishing at the prospect of an all new breed of Scrubs that will make a change from the old stale format? Or are you someone who dislikes change when it comes to your favourite shows and you’re waiting for this new season to be disappointed?
Which ever camp you fall into, Scrubs is returning 1st of December 2009 on ABC.

After a good seven weeks of Sixth Form – which has filled up one whole lever arch folder- it’s time for the first half term of the year so far. So, what’s going to be happening for me then?
Well, besides the holiday homework that I’ve been set that ranges from writing up the first draft of my formal report for IT to creating an advert for Coke Cola in Media; I think I’m just going to be doing my usual thing of working on some new website ideas and watching new television and films.
Oh and today was a good day for television and film: there was a new episode of The Office to watch as well as new Peep Show, Have I Got News For You and Armstrong and Miller. I also watched Pixar’s new film Up on BluRay, they’ve done it again and have made an emotional and beautiful film.
As well as all of that, I’m going to be doing something right out of the ordinary for me: I’m going to a party, yes, a party. It’s just the Sixth Form Halloween social, it’s at nightclub in Wellingborough with over 115 people attending so a variety of things could and will probably go wrong.
But we’ll see when it comes to it. Have fun if you’re also on your half term.

With Clear:Both up and running and Stevey’s Blog having been redesigned; I thought I would post a round up of these two sites, just so you can see what it is that I’ve done.
Although both of the sites look different; I have tried to make them similar in how they are presented.
- Both follow a similar colour scheme.
- Use eye catching icons and graphics; such as the speech bubble and the Twitter header.
- They use the some fonts for the main header; LubalGraph Bold.
- They both take advantage of stylish padding to distinguish sections.
- The little details make all the different; brushes, lights and 1px lines to make them look bold.
I hope you like what I’ve done, if you want to see those screenshots in full size; then you can do, click here for Clear:Both and here for Stevey’s Blog. Even better you can view them live, you’ll find those links at the top.

Tweetie 2, the follow up to the hugely successful Tweetie, was earlier this evening approved by the App Store and was available to download shortly afterwards. Now, don’t be fooled into thinking that the upgrade is free if you already have the original Tweetie, you will still have to fork over £1.90. So I’ll be reviewing the application and asking myself: is it worth it? If you just want to look at the pictures, just click on one to load it up, then click the arrows to navigate between them.
After you enter your account details, you’ll be greeted with a message saying that your account was verified, and you’ll be sent to the landing page which contains all of the Tweets from you and your friends feed. You’ll know which Tweets are yours because your picture will justified on the right hand side. I don’t like this because it ruins the flow, they could easily just have a different colour background like they did originally.
The replies section hasn’t changed that much. You can search through the replies if you want to find a particular one if you have a lot of them, as you can see in the third picture.
Your Tweet stream is as you would expect, again, no drastic differences from the original Tweetie. Again, you can search through your own Tweets if you want to do that.

In additional to the default landing page, the way you can reload Tweets is different. As opposed to shaking, you can slide up and release as you can see from the first picture. I didn’t find anything wrong with the shaking method, but I do like the sliding method because it fits in with the “slide to lock” feature.
You can also view your friends and search through them if you’re looking for someone in particular. The way a profile is laid out is different from the original Tweetie. Different things are in different places and have a different look to them. For example, the biographical information is now inside the white rounded oblong. Other stats such as amount of Tweets are displayed underneath.
The messages also have a different layout, they aren’t dissimilar to how the Facebook 3.0 application and various messenger applications arrange messages. By having the pictures of the different people involved on different sides of the screen, it makes it easier to only read the other persons responses.
Writing a Tweet is basically the same as it always was, however there is now a character count in the bottom corner which acts as a drop down menu with options to insert your location, pictures and videos. You can also type in landscape by rotating the device. This makes it easier to type.
You’ll find the trending topics under the magnifying glass icon, if you click on one of the topics you’ll be sent to a list of the latest Tweets; again, nothing new there. However, you can now save that search if you want to go back to it at another time, for example if the topic is no longer trending.
You can search through the public Tweets if you want to find out about something in particular, for example, what people think of a TV show that you just watched. Tweetie saves your previous searches if you want to go back to them at a later date.
We’re nearing the end of the review now, there’s not much to go over; but here’s some cool bits that I noticed while testing out the application. Tweetie now automatically shortens long links like the web version does, and under the settings, you’re able to choose which service you want to use, I like bit.ly personally.
Other settings that you tweak are where pictures and videos are uploaded to that you include in your Tweets, I’m boring so I stick with TwitPic and TwitVid respectively. Last but not least, the new version of Tweetie now has a new icon, so everyone will know that you spent £1.90 to buy it.
So, lets end with my question: is it worth it? Well, obviously there are some major improvements, modifications, tweaks and added features; all of which make Tweetie a useful yet lovable, (and one of the best), application, which is in my opinion one of the best out there on the App Store. However, if you’re happy with the original Tweetie and don’t find any of the above changes useful, or simply do not want to buy another version of an application that you have already bought, then that’s okay as well.

Yep, that title has been done to death but for the life of me I cannot be bothered to think of a better title. The new logo and insignia for Doctor Who has been officially released by the BBC. You can watch a video of the new logo as well as what looks like to be the new “trailer” layout, (i.e. the fonts, colours and music used during the “2010″ part). You can also download the logo and insignia as a wallpaper.
I actually really like this new logo, it’s adult and reminds me of the older logos; which I guess Stephen Moffat was aiming for because he’s bringing the show back to it’s roots, (for example, using the original TARDIS). The new logo will be in use from the first of Matt Smith’s stories which will likely air April/March of 2010.
